BOAT TOUR TO THE MUSSEL FARMS OF THE GULF OF POETS

Departure from Lerici for a visit to the Santa Teresa purification centre (mooring at the sailing club) and the mussel farms, returning to Lerici at around 12:00 noon.

Discover the mussel farms and the Santa Teresa purification centre with a visita gratuita boat tour through the waters of the Gulf, aboard one of the ferries operated by Consorzio Marittimo Turistico 5 Terre – Golfo dei Poeti.

Participants will be accompanied by a member of the Cooperativa Mitilicoltori Spezzini, who will offer an insight into mussel and oyster farming, the day-to-day work at sea, farming techniques and the return of oysters to the Gulf of La Spezia.

The visit will continue in Santa Teresa, with a stop at the museum dedicated to mussel farming, where visitors can learn more about the history, techniques and traditions behind this age-old profession.

An experience combining the sea, tradition and local heritage, offering a closer look at one of the Gulf of La Spezia’s most authentic traditional trades.
